Synechococcus sp. strain CB0101 is a model strain for cyanobacteria living in the estuarine environment. It is also a representative member of marine Synechococcus subcluster 5.2. The draft genome sequence of CB0101 was reported in 2014 with 454 sequencing. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of CB0101, obtained with PacBio sequencing. CB0101 contains a specialized array of genes which are involved in sensing, responding to, and persisting in the presence of environmental stress.Copyright © 2019 Fucich et al.

Bacillus anthracis, the etiologic agent of anthrax, is susceptible to beta-lactam antibiotics, but few cases of naturally occurring penicillin-resistant strains have been reported. We report the genome sequence of penicillin-resistant strain Bacillus anthracis PCr, isolated from imported bone powder in 1978 in Japan.Copyright © 2019 Okutani et al.
Pseudomonas sp. strain SGAir0191 was isolated from an air sample collected in Singapore, and its genome was sequenced using a combination of long and short reads to generate a high-quality genome assembly. The complete genome is approximately 5.07?Mb with 4,370 protein-coding genes, 19 rRNAs, and 73 tRNAs.Copyright © 2019 Wong et al.
The carbapenem resistance gene blaNDM-5 was identified in an Escherichia coli strain isolated from a dog. We report here the complete genome sequence of this E. coli strain; the blaNDM-5 gene was present on a large IncFII multidrug-resistant plasmid. This is the first blaNDM-5-carrying E. coli strain from an animal in the United States.

It has one chromosome with a length of 3.38?Mb and one 59.2-kb plasmid. It contains 3,170 protein-coding genes, 48 tRNAs, and 6 rRNAs.Copyright © 2019 Kalsi et al.
Dehalococcoides mccartyi strain FL2 couples growth to hydrogen oxidation and reductive dechlorination of trichloroethene and cis- and trans-1,2-dichloroethenes. Strain FL2 has a 1.42-Mb genome with a G+C content of 47.0% and carries 1,465 protein-coding sequences, including 24 reductive dehalogenase genes.Copyright © 2019 Yan et al.
Acinetobacter radioresistens strain DD78 (= CCUG 69565) is a soil hydrocarbon-degrading and biosurfactant-producing bacterium isolated from chronically crude oil-polluted soil of the Aconcagua River mouth in Chile. The 3.25-Mb A. radioresistens DD78 genome (41.8% GC content) was completely sequenced, with 4 replicons, 2,970 coding sequences, and 77 tRNAs.Copyright © 2019 Macaya et al.
Azoarcus sp. strain DD4 can cometabolically degrade 1,4-dioxane and 1,1-dichloroethylene (1,1-DCE) when grown with propane and other substrates. The complete genome sequence of strain DD4 reveals a diverse collection of bacterial monooxygenase genes that may contribute to its versatility in degrading commingled groundwater pollutants.Copyright © 2019 Deng et al.
Here, we present the complete genome sequence of a Bifidobacterium longum isolate, that of strain ZJ1, and this strain showed a cholesterol degradation ability that is greater than that of five strains we chose for comparison (Bifidobacterium longum 536, B. infantis 1912, B. longum 1941, B. breve ATCC 15698, B. infantis ATCC 17930). The draft genome of strain ZJ1 consists of 2,414,672?bp, with 2,042 protein-coding genes, 69 noncoding RNA genes, and 60.16% G+C content.Copyright © 2019 Jin et al.

Human brucellosis has become the most severe public health problem in the Ulanqab region of Inner Mongolia, China. Brucella melitensis BMWS93 was obtained from a blood sample taken from a bank clerk in the Ulanqab region of Inner Mongolia, China, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing in vitro showed no zone of inhibition, which confirmed resistance to rifampin. Therefore, whole-genome sequencing of this isolate was performed to better understand the mechanism of this resistance.Copyright © 2019 Liu et al.
