Complete Genome Sequence of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans IC1, a Sulfonate-Respiring Anaerobe.

We report the complete genome sequence of the anaerobic, sulfonate-respiring, sulfate-reducing bacterium Desulfovibrio desulfuricans IC1. The genome was assembled into a single 3.25-Mb circular chromosome with 2,680 protein-coding genes identified. Sequencing of sulfonate-metabolizing anaerobes is key for understanding sulfonate degradation and its role in the sulfur cycle.Copyright © 2019 Day et al.

Complete Genome Sequence of Kosakonia sp. Strain CCTCC M2018092, a Fucose-Rich Exopolysaccharide Producer.

Kosakonia sp. strain CCTCC M2018092 is a fucose-rich exopolysaccharide producer that was isolated from spring water in Chongqing, Southwest China. In this study, the whole-genome sequence and genetic characteristics of this strain were elucidated. This genome contained 4,789,478 bp, with a G+C content of 56.08% (excluding the plasmid). The genome information in this study will facilitate understanding of the mechanism of high yield of fucose-rich exopolysaccharide produced by Kosakonia sp. CCTCC M2018092.Copyright © 2019 Niu et al.

Draft Genome Sequence of Methylocystis heyeri H2T, a Methanotroph with Habitat-Specific Adaptations, Isolated from a Peatland Ecosystem.

Methylocystis heyeri H2T is an aerobic facultative methanotroph which was isolated from an acidic Sphagnum peat bog lake and is a common inhabitant of peatland ecosystems. This bacterium possesses two particulate methane monooxygenases with low and high affinity to methane and a number of genomic adaptations to acidic conditions.Copyright © 2019 Oshkin et al.

Methylomes of Two Extremely Halophilic Archaea Species, Haloarcula marismortui and Haloferax mediterranei.

The genomes of two extremely halophilic Archaea species, Haloarcula marismortui and Haloferax mediterranei, were sequenced using single-molecule real-time sequencing. The ~4-Mbp genomes are GC rich with multiple large plasmids and two 4-methyl-cytosine patterns. Methyl transferases were incorporated into the Restriction Enzymes Database (REBASE), and gene annotation was incorporated into the Haloarchaeal Genomes Database (HaloWeb).Copyright © 2019 DasSarma et al.

Complete Genome Sequence of Leuconostoc kimchii Strain NKJ218, Isolated from Homemade Kimchi.

Leuconostoc kimchii strain NKJ218 was isolated from homemade kimchi in South Korea. The whole genome was sequenced using the PacBio RS II and Illumina NovoSeq 6000 platforms. Here, we report a genome sequence of strain NKJ218, which consists of a 1.9-Mbp chromosome and three plasmid contigs. A total of 2,005 coding sequences (CDS) were predicted, including 1,881 protein-coding sequences.Copyright © 2019 Jung et al.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Wood-Decaying Fungus Xylaria sp. BCC 1067.

Xylaria sp. BCC 1067 is a wood-decaying fungus which is capable of producing lignocellulolytic enzymes. Based on the results of a single-molecule real-time sequencing technology analysis, we present the first draft genome of Xylaria sp. BCC 1067, comprising 54.1?Mb with 12,112 protein-coding genes.Copyright © 2019 Sutheeworapong et al.

Draft Genome Sequence of Alteromonas sp. Strain RKMC-009, Isolated from Xestospongia muta via In Situ Culturing Using an Isolation Chip Diffusion Chamber.

We report the draft whole-genome sequence of Alteromonas sp. strain RKMC-009, which was isolated in situ from the sponge Xestospongia muta in San Salvador, The Bahamas, using an isolation chip (ichip). Automated biosynthetic gene cluster analysis using antiSMASH 4.0 predicted the presence of 22 biosynthetic gene clusters.Copyright © 2019 MacIntyre et al.

Whole-Genome Sequence of Monascus purpureus GB-01, an Industrial Strain for Food Colorant Production.

We report the draft genome sequence of Monascus purpureus GB-01, an industrial strain used as a food colorant. De novo assembly of long reads resulted in 121 chromosomal contigs and 1 mitochondrial contig, and sequencing errors were corrected by paired-end short reads. This genome sequence will provide useful information for azaphilone pigments and mycotoxin citrinin biosynthesis.Copyright © 2019 Kumagai et al.
